 April 13, 2008 Make a Stuffed Creature Photos from our April 2008 Workshop We made & sewed our own adorable or hideous creation in stunning 3-D stuffed form! Patterns were available, but free-styling was encouraged! Basic hand-sewing skills and hand eye coordination was not required, but helpful! |
 May 18, 2008 Fused Plastic Bag Pouch/Wallet Photos from our May 2008 Workshop Did you know that you could fuse together flimsy, thin plastic shopping bags and transform them into a stronger, downright durable material? Now that's recycling! This workshop taught how turn your trash into craft! |
 June 22, 2008 Fuzzy, Felty Keychain Fun Photos from our June 2008 Workshop The cutest and wackiest and most unique keychains in town were created as we learned some basic stitches and whipped up some tasty keychain fun on a rainy Sunday afternoon! An angry pink cupcake, mini guitars and lots more came to life while we had a great time! |
 August 3, 2008 Make a Book Purse Photos from our August 2008 Workshop Funky and unique book purses were made by one and all as we learned how fun and easy it is to recycle an old book into a purse! Try it yourself, just google "book purse" for instructions! Everything from the Holy Bible to a Star Trek novel became awesome bags! We got a press writeup! |
 September 14, 2008 Brooches from old eyeglass lenses Photos from our September 2008 Workshop Creating fanciful, one-of-a-kind brooches was a lot of fun! We took images from old children's books, magazines and books used the magic Modge Podge to seal it to the inside of an eyeglass lens (so many shapes!) and added some flair to finish them off. The creativity and artistry of everyone in the workshop was impressive! |
 October 12, 2008 Special FX Makeup Photos from our October 2008 Workshop Professional FX make-up artists RIP Odebralski and Firepixi educated us all in the Halloween Edition of StitchBird! Workshop participants learned hands-on how to apply a basic prosthetic appliance and more! We got a press writeup! |
 November 12, 2008 Sock Monkeys and Monsters Photos from our November 2008 Workshop When you know how to create a funky, freaky sock monster out of a single, lonely sock its just doesn't seem as bad when you lose one to the mysterious depths of the dryer! More advanced crafters created sock monkeys (takes 2 socks) and everyone sewed their fingers to the bone! |
 December 7, 2008 Découpage Gift Items Photos from our December 2008 Workshop This workshop was a gooey, messy good time! Everyone made really unique and fabulous items. Frames, boxes and votives of all sorts were découpaged into one-of-a-kind gifts. We really all had fun and were proud of our creations in the end. What more could you ask for?! :-) |
 January 25, 2009 Beaded Collage Necklaces Photos from our January 2009 Workshop Every single necklace created in this workshop was an absolute, one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art! Finding just the right color combinations of beads and bobbles and learning how to twist the wire and beads together 'just so' was fun and challenging. Everyone left proudly wearing their dramatic new piece of jewelry. |

 April 26, 2009 Felt Forest Friends Photos from our April 2009 Workshop Amanda (Cupcake) created four adorable patterns around the theme of "forest friends". Using felt and simple hand stitching techniques, all manner of sweet little creatures came out of this workshop! It was the first time we introduced safety eyes as well! |
 May 31, 2009 Cigar Box Purses Photos from our May 2009 Workshop Découpage is such a fun, messy and satisfying craft... and when you're making a one-of-a-kind cigar box purse it is effortlessly cool and functional too! Every single cigar box purse was unique and a true reflection of the owner! We got a press writeup! |

 July 31, 2009 Star Wars Couture Photos from our July 2009 Workshop Cupcake Amanda whipped up some adorable (and classy) Star Wars-inspired couture headpieces in honor of Stitch Wars exhibition taking place upstairs at Bear and Bird, featuring all kinds of lovely handmade items inspired by Star Wars. You can check it out online here. What we made were Fascinator Style headpieces featuring the insignia's of either the Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire... depending on your inclinations! |
 August 23, 2009 Fabric Covered Button Charm Bracelet and Clips Photos from our August 2009 Workshop In this workshop we made darling, unique custom charm bracelet and hair clips using fabric buttons that we covered ourselves! There was a wide selection of vintage, japanese and adorable fabric squares to choose from too. We all learned out to use a nifty little fabric button maker tool that was a take-home bonus! |

 November 8 , 2009 Photos from our November 2009 Workshop We learned how to create fabric Yo-Yos and then fashion them into nifty necklaces and collars! Fabric yo-yos were popular in the early 19th century as a fun and funky use for leftover fabric scraps. It is an old-school classic craft! Making fabric yo-yos is actually really quick and easy once you've got the hang of it! You can then amass an army of them to add as embellishments to all kinds of things! |
