As many of you know TATE'S has been a big fan of Shin Chan for over TEN YEARS and we are happy that the little bastard will finally be getting a wider audience. The fact that they call him "Shin" is a little freaky to us, but we will be watching! Check out shinchanshow.com

BEST COMIC-BOOK SHOP
Tate's Comics, 4566 N. University Dr.
Lauderhill 33351, 954-748-0181
We tried. We really tried. Surely, there had to be a challenger to knock Tate's Comics off its perpetual throne as best comic source in South Florida. But no. Not only has Tate's continued to be the gravitational center of the local graphic-novel universe but the mind-blowing manga seller has even upped its game. As in its "gaming satellite," to be precise. Formerly located in a crammed nook of a nearby storefront, the new gaming space has moved to a much larger unit a few doors north of the main store. That means more room for your buds, their ninja minis, and all those dice in a marathon role-playing session. And back at comic-book central, the main shop is still a trip for the casual shopper or hard-core fan. Even if you aren't the classic comic type, your imagination will be stoked by a walk through this maze of anime DVDs, movie props, comic artist supplies, and wild action figures.

Check out the official Free Comic Book Day website for more information!

New TATE'S Torso Art shirt coming soon! Torso Art #2 was illustrated by Rick Geary. They are going to be printed on silver grey American Apparel shirts with dark grey ink. Lovely! Want a sneek peek? Check it out...
Be our MySpace friend! Look for us at: http://www.myspace.com/tatescomics
We'll even be offering special "incentives" once in a while to our MySpace pals! Oooooo!
Next weekend, April 15th, don't miss "For the Love of Pete" - an amazing benefit concert and art auction for the amazing artist, Peter Giovenco. More info in our special events section. Click here to see the flyer.
We are sponsoring a Sundance Film Series called, ASIA EXTREME at Cinema Paradiso. The next showing is May 29th and it is for Dark Water. If you've never seen it, or even if you have, check it out! The American remake of it was mostly lame, but the original Japanese version is spooooooky! More info in our special events section about this too!
The date for TATE'S 13th Anniversary Sale has been decided upon, April 22 & 23. The flyers are all printed up and in the store too! Check out all the details in our special events section. Also, we have set up a little Cafe Press store featuring the "TATE'S 13th Anniversary" artwork created by Justin Degarmo. We priced the merch at only $1 over the Cafe Press cost, we just offering it to our customers for fun! You know you need a TATE'S mug or doggie t-shirt! This may be something we offer every sale...
Speaking of doggie's... the Humane Society ''Walk for the Animals" is this weekend. If you would like to contribute, you only have until Friday to do so! TIP: If you donate online at: www.firstgiving.com/tates you will receive a $5 OFF @ TATE'S Coupon! You may also donate in-store, we have an envelope behind the counter for that purpose.
Tate was quoted in City Link's cover story this past week. The story was about a local woman, Naomi Graham-Diaz, who creates handmade geisha inspired (and authentic) "fashion items" out of kimono fabric. Neat stuff! Check out the City Link Article and her website, Puchimaiko.com.
Speaking of handmade, TATE'S is now proudly carrying the adorable handmade creations of Mathilde! We currently have a bunch of the smaller stuff, like her manical veggie magnets, oh my! Visit her Mathilde.etsy.com shop and check out her stuff in the store too! :-)
A lot of work is being done on the new Gaming Satellite, we're on track to open at the beginning of March!
This week TATE'S was featured in a Marvel store promo ad in issue 27 of Ultimate Fantastic Four. We are thrilled to be offered the exposure! We're really not even sure how we got so lucky! If you want to see the ad you can simply click HERE and check it out.

Cloud City was really quite wonderful. If humanly possible, you should check it out before the show closes. Want to see a couple of photos from Cloud City? The new Friends With You plush creatures are IN STOCK!
