Découpage Gifty Items on Sunday, December 7, 2008

You can also register in-store at TATE'S.
Just ask up at the front register.

Paper découpage is fun and easy and the results are fantastic and lasting! All workshop participants will be able to create 1 picture frame, 1 trinket box and 2 votive candles. Yes, you get to make all three!

Have fun in this workshop (with gluey fingers) and check three gifts off your list! All kinds of découpaging materials will be provided, from magazines and maps to children's books and tissue paper! Create a unique one of a kind gift!

When: Sunday, December 7th from 1:30-5:00pm

Make a Stuffed Creature

We made & sewed our own adorable or hideous creation in stunning 3-D stuffed form! Patterns were available, but free-styling was encouraged! Basic hand-sewing skills and hand eye coordination was not required, but helpful!

Fused Plastic Bag Pouch/Wallet

Fuzzy, Felty Keychain Fun

The cutest and wackiest and most unique keychains in town were created as we learned some basic stitches and whipped up some tasty keychain fun on a rainy Sunday afternoon! An angry pink cupcake, mini guitars and lots more came to life while we had a great time!

Make a Book Purse

Funky and unique book purses were made by one and all as we learned how fun and easy it is to recycle an old book into a purse! Try it yourself, just google "book purse" for instructions! Everything from the Holy Bible to a Star Trek novel became aweome bags! We got a press writeup!

Brooches from old eyeglass lenses

Creating fancifull, one-of-a-kind brooches was a lot of fun! We took images from old children's books, magazines and books used the magic Modge Podge to seal it to the inside of an eyeglass lens (so many shapes!) and added some flair to finish them off. The creativitiy and artistry of everyone in the workshop was impressive!

Sock Monkeys and Monsters

When you know how to create a funky, freaky sock monster out of a single, lonely sock its just doesn't seem as bad when you lose one to the mysterious depths of the dryer! More advanced crafters created sock monkeys (takes 2 socks) and everyone sewed their fingers to the bone!
